Backgammon: strategy

First that you must consider to play backgammon it´s that you play against another rival directly, that means, aside from the lucky in your dice roll, your game strategy depends on the rival that you have opposite and his play.

There are some basic strategies by which you can govern, mainly when you are nascent, although you must fit your game at the time of the game in which you are and your opponent´s style.

First strategy to consider, although it sounds obvious, is that backgammon is a race to draw out the checkers  from the board quickly. Try not to be blocked, especially if you go ahead in the game.

You must mainly cover the internal board squares, will be able to block your rival´s chips and complicate him the return of his "eaten" checkers. Note that your adversary will try to do the same, you try to draw out 2 checkers that are in rival board at beginning of game.

You try not to let “blot” (single checker in a square) to avoid that  it can be attacked by your adversary.

It´s evident that not always you can follow the strategy. There are moments of game at which you can risk more in your movements and moments in which you must realise safer movements.

You must analyze so much the opponent´s strategy, the attitude and vary your game and your bets following the style, the movements of attack or defense, etc.
